Here’s the yard sign in my neighborhood:
Here’s the house it’s in front of:Not to be too snarky on a beautiful Sunday morning,
but how does this person think it’s okay to even use the word “poverty”???
xoxoxoo B
p.s. You have to click on the house picture– I couldn’t get it all in.
….
that’s pretty much my reaction to that situation. haha! Just silence and confusion as to what in the world were they thinking?
oh yes…. I agreee!!
Poverty divided equally? Someone living in that house has no idea what hunger tastes like.
No kidding, Rosie — it makes me so mad every time I drive by, I can’t tell you!
Wow, isn’t that the truth! Clearly, they aren’t part of the 47%!
Hugs,
Kathy
Thank you, Betty! I’m trying to say more and there are simply no words…..
Yes, I know they’re saying that a week after the elections if Obama wins the army will be in the streets and the banks will be shut. They’re right. It will be Veterans’ Day.
That made me laugh out loud, Amy — love it!! I just am so bewildered when people talk about what a radical Obama is .. if anything, he’s a total centrist and compromise champion — seriously, could anybody BE any more moderate?? Just goes to show, you see what you want to see….. ( :
Ha!! I am glad you blogged on it!! It is confusing to see such hypocrisy everywhere in this country!! So much political garbage!
I couldn’t agree more, Deb — I mean RIGHT! we’re just one teeny step away from socialism. I drove by this house tonight and three big fat white Georgia good ole boys were sitting on the front porch drinking — wow, where is the revolution when you need one??
Good grief. What an awful sign. People are very unaware (and ungrateful) of their own circumstances and certainly unaware of real poverty and inequality. I say this as I prepare to go to NC to work on the Obama campaign!
You are my HERO JUDY!!! I feel so awful I haven’t been on the ground working but believe me, I’m there in spirit (and pocketbook) !!! Godspeed!
Thank you, Judy. We need all the help we can get. I was out knocking on doors in Charlotte today to encourage people to VOTE. For Obama of course.
You always make me laugh, Sybil! Yeah, the sign pissed me off so much I wanted to go deface it with a big “Boo Hoo” … but then my husband said, “Oh stop whining and just blog about it.” And now I really DO feel so much better!
Right on Betty….
The homeowner lives in a different world!
Maybe their under-paid illegal nanny from Uraguay is living in poverty.
Socialism ain’t a bad, scary word in Canada (Well maybe in parts of Alberta and Saskatchewan. )
That REALLY is a STUPID sign.
I have a bumper sticker on my car: “Republicans for Voldemort”, so it’s pretty clear where I stand, and I don’t even get to vote in your elections.
